iPhone 3G salesThe launch of the iPhone may have been plagued by glitches, but perhaps it’s not surprising with more than a million people trying to activate their new handsets. Yes, Apple has announced that it sold its millionth iPhone 3G this Sunday, following the device’s launch.

Those sales are spread across 21 countries, and Apple says it’s a far cry from the 74 days it took to sell a million of the original iPhones (although that was in the US only).

What’s more, Apple has sold more than ten million iPhone and iPod Touch applications through its App Store since it launched last Thursday. There are now more than 800 to choose from, of which more than 200 are freebies.
