Get all Shakespeare’s plays for free on your iPhone

Generations of British schoolchildren have grown up loathing Shakespeare with a passion - not because The Bard is particularly loathsome, but because they’ve had his works rammed down their throats with a passion by English GCSE teachers of varying quality.

Really, the best way to discover Shakespeare is to go and see a play in the flesh, without some berk quacking in your ear about dramatic presentations of kingship or Hamlet’s quest for The Self. But the second best way is to download Bill’s complete works to your iPhone from the App Store.

Well, now you can. As part of a co-operative project between Readdle and PlayShakespeare.com, an iPhone app has just been released containing Shakespeare’s complete works, for you to read at your leisure. And what’s more, it’s completely free! Marvellous.
