Music 2.0 service Last.fm has launched its official iPhone application, just days after rival Pandora appeared on the App Store. It’s good news for those of us in Europe, where Pandora isn’t accessible. Anyway, the iPhone version has many of the features of the Last.fm website.
So, you can listen to your personalised radio station, or create instant stations based on artists or tags. You can listen to Last.fm’s catalogue of more than four million songs - a feature that works over Wi-Fi but also over 3G or EDGE, which is a bonus.
There are direct links from songs to Apple’s iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store so you can buy them there and then, while there are some nifty sharing features too, allowing you to send recommendations to friends, and keep up with their playlists. The app is free.
