The iPhone’s touchscreen is made for crosswords and sudoku, and while there are dozens of sudoku games on the App Store, there aren’t quite as many crossword puzzles yet. 2 Across is one game that’s just been released, and it’s fairly nifty.

It provides access to crosswords from the New York Times, Washington Post, The Onion and various other sources, and lets you download subscription or free puzzles to your iPhone to complete on the go.

What’s neat is the ability to virtually scribble your answers in pencil or pen on-screen, while cheats will appreciate the option to get help along the way. At £3.49, it sounds something of a bargain, considering you can expect to be using it for a long time to come.
