Language-learning on the go has evolved from sticking a tape cassette in your Walkman and repeating phrases, through mobile applications teaching you essential vocabulary, and now onto iPhone apps from companies like Renkara Media Group.
Its latest iPhone app is AccelaStudy French, which tests your vocab with flashcard-style revision of more than 1,200 words, with a special quiz mode to make learning fun (in theory). You can search the entire dictionary in French or English, and save your progress in between sessions.
It’s fairly pricey compared to other apps at £8.99, but if you’re learning French it could be a real help. German, Spanish, Italian and Turkish versions are also available on the App Store.
